Faint Not

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9
There are times when we won’t see change right away.  We know that we are doing well at doing good, but sometimes the results haven’t arrived yet.  This is when we need to remember that what we feel or what the scale says, or even what people see in us may not change, but God is changing us.
It should never be our first priority to see the results that we want.  We should be doing what is right because we want to honor and draw closer to God.  This is about the kingdom of heaven, not about how much I weigh or what size my clothing is.  It’s about my obedience to Him and my growing closer to Him.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:5
Simply by BELIEVING I have already overcome the world.  I have already overcome my sin.  I need to believe it and walk in it, no matter what the scale or anything else says.
If I only do something for the results I get, won’t that make me easy to manipulate?  Satan could use that to his advantage quite simply.  He could tempt me just enough to show no progress so that I give up.  Two steps forward – two steps back again.  He doesn’t need me to do anything but give up.  Taking a step back is not a failure.  Falling down is not a failure.  It is all part of the process.
The only way that I become a failure is to give up.  By giving up I stop trusting God, I stop believing in Jesus, and I become overcome by the world.
I refuse to give up.  The results of this week, the way that I feel – these are fleeting moments.  It’s the full future that God has seen and has promised me that I need to believe and keep my focus on.  He sees me as I am and what I will be.  I need to not be so short sighted that I can only see where I am.
Oh Lord give me eyes that I might see what you see.  Do not let me be weary in well doing, for I will reap if I don’t faint or give up!

  2. Thank you Kelli for your constant encouragement! I'm sure that you can tell that a lot of the things I write are based on the scriptures and teachings that you use in your "FLOWERS OVER THE WALL" bible study! Many of the articles in this blog are results of my journal entries based on your bible study!
